Terms of service
By using NP Tracker, users agree to the published Terms of Service and Privacy Notice. Personal use is permitted subject to the stated conditions. Users may not resell access, copy or distribute the service without permission, reverse engineer it, overload or scrape it with automated systems, harvest personal information, spam users or use the service for commercial solicitation.
The service may contain links to third-party websites. NP Tracker states that it does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, privacy practices or any resulting damage.
Lookout submissions
People who submit lookout information are responsible for the content and the consequences of publishing it. Submissions may be visible to users of the service and are not guaranteed to remain confidential. Submitters must have the necessary rights and permissions and must not provide unlawful, false, defamatory, threatening, hateful, obscene or malicious content.
The terms grant NP Tracker a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, adapt, display and perform submitted lookout content in connection with the service.
Privacy notice
The published policy describes collecting identifiers such as a mobile phone number or push-notification name where required, cookies, server logs, usage data, device or browser information, lookup requests and submission timestamps. Information may be used to operate, maintain, secure and improve the service.
NP Tracker states that personally identifying information is not sold or shared with third parties for their commercial marketing without consent. Information may be shared with service providers where reasonably necessary, when required by law, to enforce the terms, investigate claims, assist authorities or protect safety and system integrity.
Using information supplied by NP Tracker
All lookout information is supplied “voetstoots” — as received — and is unverified. Users undertake to verify information independently before acting in any way that could affect another person’s rights, freedom, life, possessions or property. Information is used at the user’s own risk.
Participation is based on confidentiality and mutual trust, subject to lawful use. Users are expected to protect private information about individuals, police operations and information supplied to or received from NP Tracker.
The terms state that the service is based in South Africa, disputes are governed by South African law and handled by a competent court in Pretoria, Gauteng. Users must be at least 16 years old or otherwise have the required legal capacity and consent.
